Hey You!
Welcome to my corner of the internet. I registered the domain name hey-you.com in 1997, planting the seeds of what would later become my early web design business and an umbrella for my many side quests. On March 31, 2000 I used blogger.com (user name: you) to publish my very first blog post: “Is this thing on?” An inauspicious beginning to what became a long blogging career spanning many names and many points of view including “It’s Boris!” From the point of view of my beloved pug, and the Empire State Building Blog that delved into all things Empire State Building.
As all good things do, my internet presence came to a screeching halt (pun intended) after a debilitating accident in the fall of 2005. These 20 years later, I am thrilled to be back. The atmosphere I hope to create here is one of the good old days, tempered by today’s constraints. After all, anonymity is no longer a thing, nor is privacy in general – sad losses in the ongoing war against censorship and oppression.
But I digress.
On a serious note, this site has always been and will always be 99 ⁴⁴⁄₁₀₀% Organic OG Internet.
No cookies.
No ads.
No SEO.
No algorithm.
No pop-ups.
The remaining 56⁄₁₀₀? My AI executive assistant has become and indispensable part of my creative process, a process about which I have quite a lot to say.
So there you have it. Much more profound than my very first post and much less like the anonymous screaming into the void that marked the Good Old Days. It will take some getting used to. I hope you will stick around.
